A working man

A working man

Five in the morning he lights up a smoke
Gets out of bed and puts his clothes on
Two cups of coffee it’s time to go
Clocks in at seven, life goes on
He’s a working man that’s his fate
He’s a working man don’t you know
Working man, working man
Working man from his head to his toes
Working man, working man
He’s proud to be a working man

Never thinks how different things could’ve been
He works with his sweat and his calloused hands
He believes in hard work, the American dream
He believes in courage that’s where he stands
He’s a working man…………………..

Don’t need no reward, don’t need no praise
He takes care of himself and the ones he loves
He don’t care to listen to what the Union man says
He trusts his own heart and the Lord above

He’s a working man……………….
